When you marry a Tradie, you know the shed will probably have a lot of tools in it, but when you marry a Tradie who’s hobby is four wheel driving, you have no idea what you’re in for! The amount of 4×4 items my husband has collected over the years is overwhelming to say the least. All I knew was that I didn’t want them on display! When we started to plan out the backyard, we decided to build two sheds. One for the garden and tools/ 4×4 and another for household items we don’t use as often.

We had a friend build our shed and my poor husband thought he was getting a tough, man cave looking shed, but to his surprise, I had the boys build a planter box and kinda matched it to the girl’s cubby house LOL. Was he happy about it? Probably not! Was I going to change it? No way! But I had a plan he would love! I knew I wanted to fit it out with The Pinnacle Hardware Modular range. It would be the perfect man shed that was still stylish. I wanted this to be a surprise, so his job was to paint the shed and leave the rest to me. First stop, Bunnings!
After measuring the space, I headed to Bunnings to choose the pieces. The workbench was the first thing I saw and it looked so sleek, I was so excited to get started. I ended up choosing the following Pinnacle pieces for the workbench :
- 1x 900x1350x540mm Timber workbench
- 3x 900×450 Matte black pegboard
- 1x 265 x 1350 x 230mm XL Slimline Cabinet
- 1x 810x520x500 Single door mobile cabinet
- 1x 810x520x500 4 Drawer mobile storage unit
I was really impressed by the large range Pinnacle items that Bunnings had to offer. I opted for the 2090x1200x540 6 tier Adjustable shelving unit and some Taktix black storage boxes to store all of his camping and 4X4 gear. His ARB swag fits perfectly on the top shelf and all the 4x4gear were hidden perfectly inside the tubs and labeled for easy future access.

Our shovels and gardening brooms/rakes were hung using a selection of the Pinnacle hooks and surprisingly they fit everything we have so neatly.

The opposite side of the shed was turned into our gardening and painting sections. I used 2x 1045x900x300 4 Tier urban series shelving unit and stored paint in one and some storage baskets with gardening products in the other. A couple of extra pegboards were the perfect addition to the walls to hang all of our brushes and gardening tools.

It was so convenient that I was able to get everything I needed from Bunnings including all the smaller accessories and tubs. When I finally finished and showed my husband, his reaction was priceless. He was so impressed and absolutely loved the outcome. It was such a big transformation. It’s amazing what a lick of paint and a few good pieces of furniture can do to a space. Im happy he now has one area in the house that is his and not dominated by a house full of females. It’s safe to say, everyone’s happy, I got my pretty exterior to suit the are and he got his black shed he’s always wanted and best of all, it’s so practical. Hope you loved the transformation as much as I loved working on it.
