MISS A's BIG GIRL ROOM

And just like that, the final child has been upgraded to a big girl room. A bitter-sweet moment, Happy because she is so excited about it, but sad because our baby is growing up way too fast. Welcome to Miss A’s new room.

I love this nursery and the calmness it brings so I knew 100% that I did not want to change the wallpaper as I’m not yet ready to part with it. I also wanted to change the room up without spending a fortune as everything she already had was able to be upgraded with a few tweaks. The bed was the statement piece that would change the whole space. I knew I wanted a white bed to match the other furniture items in her room, so it was an easy choice when I saw the beautiful Mandalay bed from James Lane Design. It is such a beautiful bed that just ties in so well with the overall style of our home. I chose the matching bedside table and it was a match made in heaven, It instantly lit up the room and transformed it from a nursery into a big girl room.

I had a sheer canopy from the previous nursery that I had stored just in case and I’m so glad I kept it because It transformed the beautiful bed into a whimsical princess bed. She was beside herself when she saw it. The reaction was caught on camera and it was priceless.

I repurposed old items we already had in the room to style and purchased a few bit and pieces from Kmart just to add something new. It came together so nicely, I kept the rug, armchair and chandelier as they were already perfect. We moved the pink dollhouse into her room and she also inherited T’s vanity which just completed the space beautifully. Her bedding is from adairs and throw, cushions and accessories from Kmart.

When her sisters saw the room we had a problem! They all wanted the same room and it took us days to convince them that their rooms did not need to be changed hahaha. The girls now have sleepovers in eachother’s rooms and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Hope you love it as much as Miss A does x
