What do you do when you can’t travel to Europe? You bring a slice of Europe to you, that’s what! Many years ago I travelled throughout Europe and fell in love with it all, but specifically France and Italy. I love everything about the architecture and the atmosphere. I spent weeks taking pics of beautiful doors and unique gardens, so when it came time to design our garden, I was set on a Mediterranean theme to bring my love for Europe to my own home. No other perfect timing than during a pandemic hey!
I found this stunning Arles 3 piece wrought iron garden setting at Early Settler and had to have it! We had a perfect wall opposite the pool that was exactly where it would live.
The garden set is so stunning and such a statement piece. The back of the chairs are my absolute favourite, they have such a grand look.
I searched high and low for a rectangular terracotta planter which is all over France and funny enough my mum had one thrown in the garden so I claimed it! I can’t believe it was under my nose this whole time!
My vision has always been to create a beautiful balcony-like feature, minus the balcony, so I put together the wall feature and planted a climbing plant and used vintage pots as a feature.
This area has allowed us to create beautiful moments, have many brunches and long chats and feel like we have a French corner in the comfort of our very own home. Nothing more we would want during lockdowns and travel restrictions. Hope you liked our slice of Europe and what I created:)
