Who doesn’t love a beautiful tablescape? I am a sucker for all things pretty and flowers just make me happy. When we found out we are expecting our third little angel we decided to do things a little bit differently.
Mother’s Day was fast approaching and I’m not one to celebrate Mother’s Day but I was going to be seeing my mother-in-law so I decided why not drop the news in a very beautiful way seeing that it may be our last time. I’ve always announced my pregnancies in a very unique way to her, so why stop here right? I had the Beautiful dinner set from figs and feta and I just couldn’t wait to use them so this was the perfect excuse to host a dinner with such a beautiful meaning behind it.
I got in touch with Jackie from a peachy affairs and told her exactly what I wanted with the beautiful floral arrangements and she mastered the brief. It was so beautiful I was so blown away by it all. I had so much cooking and organising to do that day, so Jackie kindly took charge of the table setting and styled it to perfection. She helped with little things like ironing the napkins which she did not have to do. It was so wonderful of her to do so and the end result speaks for itself.
I opted for a blue and white theme to match my home decor and because let’s face it I just love blue! I wanted something beautiful and elegant but also very pretty and that’s exactly what was achieved. Susie from light gloss snapped some gorgeous shots of this beautiful setting before the guests arrived. A beautiful memory we will cherish forever.
My mother-in-law thought she was coming over for a Mother’s Day dinner that I had organised but instead she got the surprise of her life. We had created these gorgeous little cards a message from each one of us. My husband began first by handing her the card which said “Mum, I was the first to make you a mother”, followed by my card which said “I was the first person to make you a mother-in-law”. Miss T then handed her a card saying “And I was the first to make you a grandmother”. Finally Miss S gave her a card saying “And then I came along and shook things up a little”. At this stage my mother in law was confused haha! We then handed her the final card wih “So today we decided to give you a present that you will cherish forever and we know you will absolutely love”, attached to an image of the ultrasound and she was blown away. She was so overly excited. It was the best reaction and we got it all on video!

Teacup & Saucer: Figs & Feta
I made a soup for entree, followed by a lasagne and scalloped potatoes for main and the talented high tea cakery supplied our desserts. It was just perfect.
Safe to say it was a successful dinner and there were lots of smiles and happiness. I’m so grateful to have these beautiful images as a memory of such a beautiful night.
