Have you ever just wanted a room to look a certain way, that you have ended up designing a whole area revolving around that one room? Well this is that room!
When we were building I always knew I wanted something similar to a pool room. A space we can relax with a beautiful view, overlooking the pool. I always knew I wanted it to be white with a lot of natural light. Despite the difficulties with engineering and hiccups, I finally got my white room. We can still see what’s going on outside so we don’t feel like we’re missing out on the fun!
This wasn’t meant to be the TV room, but seeing hubby wanted one, we had to negotiate. I was dead set against one, but he was willing to flip the whole room set up to have one on the wall. So we compromised, kinda! One weekend I heard that the TV was on sale so we finally got one. The best thing about this TV is it doesn’t look like one. You can change the beautiful artwork to suit your style. I couldn’t find furniture that I liked to fit the small wall space, so I drew and designed my own and had someone custom make it and I love it. I designed it to fit some toys and decor storage but still aesthetically pleasing.
This room is just off the kitchen so we sit in it a lot. Although it’s used a lot, I really wanted light coloured furniture, so I opted for beautiful linen armchairs and a very light grey couch. My beautiful rug is from The Rug Lady and has tones of taupe and shades of blue to tie in the rest of the decor. I accessorised with lots of blue and green decor and mixed different textures from ceramics to concrete to bring the outside in.
My tables were custom made to fit our space perfectly and we chose some coastal art in black and white from interior collections to add a classic touch and a timeless finish. We opted for a black frame to tie in the black accents around the house.
