I don’t know about you guys, but I have always dreamt of having kids and hoped they would grow to be best friends, love each other unconditionally and on that odd occasion we would throw a combined party, just because. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I would give birth to two girls that just so happen to be eleven days apart between birthdays. I couldn’t have planned it better if I tried! My beautiful girls turned a big one and five and I was over the moon to start planning it. We didn’t have a theme as such, I just wanted it to represent them, beautiful!
Miss T was born at 11.44am and Miss S was born 12.22pm. Being two big milestone birthdays, I decided to gift them both a time necklace, freezing the time they came into the world. It is such a beautiful piece that we will cherish forever.
Planning this party, I knew that flowers were to be the main feature, so I had a meeting with the beautiful florist Nat and we started planning to bring my concept to life. I dreamt of a floral chandelier hanging from the ceiling and lots of flowers around the cakes to create the illusion that they were floating on clear plinths. Nat nailed the brief and delivered the most beautiful floral arch filled with a variety of 400 stunning roses, the most beautiful feature in the dessert room – yes you heard right! we had a whole room dedicate just for desserts because desserts are life haha!
Just as I envisioned, the beautiful birthday cakes by sat pretty on clear plinths to give the illusion that they were floating amongst the roses. The most delicious selection of petite desserts were displayed in a cute dessert cart amongst some of the girl’s special decor.
But what’s a birthday without cheese right? Some of you may know my slight obsession with cheese so it was only fitting to have a beautiful grazing table. To make the process easier this year, I finally let go of my control freak wings and delegated to the experts. The ladies at MGC came through with the goods, displaying one hell of a grazing table, filled with the tastiest cheese and nibbles. Apparently the main cheese on display was served to the Queen, so my girls had to have it! After all it wouldn’t be right to serve a couple of Princesses anything less right? Ha! I wish T would have eaten it, but the guests couldn’t stop raving on about the cheese it was so delicious. The gorgeous balloon install was the perfect backdrop to my cheese, five weeks on, and they are still in the same spot, still blown up perfectly, who even knew balloons could live that long?
And last but certainly not least, the stunning cookie names. One word, wow! They tasted as good as they looked. Seriously amazing.
Needless to say, the birthday was nothing less than perfect. The kids had an entertainer that kept them dancing and burning off energy for a couple of hours whilst the adults grazed and mingled.
