Miss T's ROOM REVEAL - Belle Abode

The wait is finally over. This room has been the suspense for many months and I am so delighted to reveal it. This room was one of the first rooms we planned to style, as we knew exactly what was going to be purchased ahead of time. As hard as it is choosing favourites, I might have to admit this room is my fav, so of course I saved the best to last.

Take a walk through Taliah’s wonderland…

The moment you step into the room you feel the calming ambience. The soft tones of the walls along with the beautiful girly décor instantly whisks you away to a world every little girl dreams of. Our beautiful girl made a wish that we couldn’t refuse. After all, not only was it because she asked, but it was the first step to ending co-sleeping after 4 years ( I know, I know!) so essentially it was a token to save our broken sleep. And it worked -Yay!

It was a no brainer that the room was to be pink. Upon Taliah’s request of having a bright Barbie pink colour, we did a lot of negotiating and convincing until we came to a compromise which resulted in the softest tones of pink, white and soft grey and a dash of gold to give it a sparkle. After many paint samples from my ever so patient husband, everyone was finally happy with the choices. It was very important that the room stayed calming to promote a great atmosphere for her to sleep in.

The whole layout and styling of this room was set around her beautiful Pottery Barn bed. The most girlie and prettiest bed I’ve ever seen, that Taliah had also fallen in love with it at the store. She wouldn’t stop talking about how she dreamt of sleeping in it, so that was an easy choice and purchase.

As Taliah approaches “big girl age, we had to create a space that she could enjoy today as well as when she starts school and grows out of the toddler phase. Her room has a dreamy looking teepee for relaxing and reading, a big girl vanity to pamper herself and a breathtaking Victorian dollhouse where she will spend endless hours role playing ( I cant wait to show you that reveal!). Her walls are filled with gorgeous decals and décor pieces that compliment the style perfectly.

Taliah’s reaction the minute she saw the room was “WOW” she gasped in disbelief that this was her own space and that was worth every dollar spent, every sleepless night and every dot of energy. She has slept in her beautiful new room since that day.

Once again, there are not enough words to thank all that were involved in the making of this special room. The small businesses that came together to make a little girl’s wish come true are just amazing. Every single store nailed the brief and the results speak for themselves.
